Is T410 camera clear lense cover necessary for function?

One of my T410 customers has lost the camera lens cover, and wants to know whether it affects camera function or is just a protective cover. It is somewhat rectangular and has 2 clear windows, 1 large and the other smaller. I've been told in this and other forums that it might be part of the MISC PARTS kit or LCD BEZEL kit, but do not see it listed in the HMM on Lenovo.com for T410. If it is necessary for camera function, how can one obtain one with spending a lot of unnecessary money on a kit? MTM is 2516-F9U. I saw an ebay link posted by someone else who purchased a lens cover, but the link no longer works and I didn't see anything else in Google. Thanks

My T410 didn't originally come with a webcam, but I installed one myself. It worked fine without the cover plate/lens cover. But I wanted to get one just to keep out dirt & dust. I bought one from this seller on eBay. It ships from Hong Kong, so it takes a while, but it was an exact fit and is still attached.

You're welcome. At that price, buy all 10 & keep them on hand.
