High pitch noise when charging x40

Hi all there.
My laptop makes a weird high pitch noise when charging, It started a few days ago. Any ideas how to troubleshoot and solve the problem - it is really very annoying. I dont really want to invest in a new motherboard ( I solved the problem once changing the MB, I had a spare one

A little clarification:
My original power charger went out, and it seems the non-original power charger might have caused it. When I fiddle with the power adapter, the buzz, will stop (most of the time). I suspect the soils of the connector on the power adapter might have gone wrong, cos the PC will stop charging out of nothing.
Could anyone confirm this theory?

There are hundreds of warnings against using knock-offs all over the forum.
Using a non-IBM/Lenovo charger has killed many a Thinkpad.
