Did Lenovo ever launch a 4:3 T61p? According to the ltwbook all the T61p's were widescreen!?!

What are you actually after, in terms of the required minimum GPU, CPU, LCD format and resolution etc.?

Be aware that the 14.1" T61p models (both 4:3 and WS) only get you 128MB nVIDIA Quadro FX 570M graphics.
If you want the 256MB version, you need to get the widescreen 15.4" model.
Lovely day for a Guinness! (The Real Black Stuff)

As far as I know, there were no t61p in the 14.1 widescreen, only the 4:3 which had the lesser video memory, and the 15.4 widescreen. I also believe the only Penryn capable versions were special orders since the 4:3 was phased out before the penryn cpu was introduced. I've also never seen one made in 08/08 or later, don't even know if there are any.

Indeed, there were just a mere 30 different 4:3 T61p models, not including the CTO type:

Code: Select all

$ grep -hE 'T8100|T8300|T9300|T9500' T61p_8*.txt | awk '{print $1}' | tr -d \\: | tr -s \\n \

Concerning CPU requirement, if the speed is very important to you then you might take T8100 or T8300 (instead of T9500/T9300). Then you can overclock (not very difficult, without soldering) to 2.8 or 3.2Ghz.
Details on how to overclock I will post in T6x forum later, when I will have time. In short, my T61 Flexview T9300 is running at 3.2Ghz now.
