As far as I can tell, the most complete configuration for a Docking Station that you can get is a Mini Dock Plus Series 3 (170W)... is this correct..? Now, does this dock have an expansion port to accomodate a HDD...? Unless my Alzheimers has taken over bigtime, didnt a previous version of the IBM Docking station have expansion slots for things like an additional drive and even things like video cards, etc...?
Thanks.

Re: Series 3 Dock questions.....
To be specific... I cant see that the Series 3 Dock will accomodate another HDD... is this correct...?
Re: Series 3 Dock questions.....
In the past you could get a dock with an ultrabay drive slot and a 1/2 height card slot if I'm not mistaken. I do not believe that any of the current generation docks support either of those. I have a Thinkpad Mini Dock Plus series 3 for mobile workstations (with the 135w adapter) on the desk I'm typing this from and it has no such expansion options.
However, it does have an eSATA port and I do have an external drive in an enclosure connected via that interface.

Re: Series 3 Dock questions.....
Ah... thanks. So given the last sentence in your above post you do get the option to have another storage option/drive only it has to be an external rather than internal solution. Thanks.wolfman wrote:In the past you could get a dock with an ultrabay drive slot and a 1/2 height card slot if I'm not mistaken.
