Anyone tried the new 2200BG drivers?

#1 Post by byron » Wed Apr 13, 2005 5:00 pm

thinkpad software installer cannot install it... if i do a manual install it fails unless i do a driver only install.

event log shows some problems with it not liking my widcomm bluetooth software.

tried it.. installation still fails.

ibm support is clueless and says if the old ones are working leave them as is. they are starting to get as bad as Dell support.

got it... not sure which of these two things got it to work.. but here goes.

instead of uninstalling intel sebring API and the previous drivers, i just installed right overtop of them this time.

i also edited the IPROINST.INI file contained in the WLANCX2A\APPS directory.

i changed it from

ErrorMode = ROLLBACK

to

ErrorMode = CONTINUE

i also have these entries in my event log. i added an internal (from IBM) bluetooth card to my FVU.. i'm using the widcomm driver instead of the microsoft driver.. not sure if that matters or not. anyone have any idea why i had to do all of this just to upgrade my wireless drivers?
