Scanner for T23

#1 Post by Ted_E » Wed Apr 13, 2005 5:47 pm

I have a T23 running eCS1.2 (details in sig) and need to replace my old scanner which only had W98 and below drivers.. I would like to have slide/negative scanning capabilities on a flat bed scanner as I frequently want to scan a document or page from a book or magazine. Suggestions for new, good used or refurb would be appreciated.

There is a seperate HW forum here so if you;re "just" looking for a scanner you need to post there.
Not a very helpful comment. Asking in a general hardware forum is not terribly useful since, even heree, most subscribers are 'doze users. If your head were screwed on straight, you would realize that. There are many many scanners avaiable but which ones work under OS/2-eCS? There are lists which I have consulted but most of the scanners listed are either not available here or are too expensive for me.

i'm sure that when you made this comment you meant to add a :) or some such softening..
in any event, i think batuta answered that there were drivers available..
sadly, not likely to find a modern scanner with an OS/2 driver..

my first thought would be to search h/p or some other major scanner maker..

Just to calm situation down. Good scanner working with eCS1.2 is Epson perfection 2300. It works with latest TAME/2. Tame can be found on internet.

There actually is an entire range of scanners, both low budget, middle class and high speed scanners that are supported for OS/2.
A German company specializes in scanner drivers for commercial applications that support almost any SCSI (and a few USB) based scanner.
I should know, since I bought their product (~$200.--) 8)

I've also seen a similar report on the 3200. It seems many Epson scanners work withy TAME/2. I can get a 2480 quite reasonably. Anyone know if it works with TAME/2? The 2400 does.

Yes. I have downloaded it an well as the list on OS2World. Unfortunstely the 2480 is not listed although the 2400 is. The 2480 has all the features I want and is a reasonable price. Guess I'll just have to see if a local dealer will allow a return if it doesn't work.
