My "Old" thinkpad 701C is still working
Re: My "Old" thinkpad 701C is still working
It has been a long time. The battery can be replaced with any similar battery. The old battery should have a connector that snaps onto the mobo. The connector can be cut off from the battery and another battery spliced to the wires. Do all of this with the connector disconnected and pay attention to polarity.
It should work.
It should work.

The battery soldered to the mainboard underside can be replaced by a 'normal' CMOS battery like http://img710.imageshack.us/img710/6382/1000758r.jpg
