hotkey fn-f5 allow bluetooth on/off but not wireless

#1 Post by ewysp » Wed Apr 13, 2005 8:30 pm

Folks,

I have an R50p with built in bluetooth and wireless. I believe in the past when I pressed fn-f5 I was able to toogle on/off both bluetooth and wireless. Now I only see bluetooth. Any ideas how to resolve this?

Reinstalling the wireless card driver should take care of it.

Eriqesque,

Thanks for the information. I tried that prior to posting this message but left yhat information out of the message. It did not solve the problem. I upgrade from 1.2.1.x to 1.2.3.14.

On a different note ... moving to Cary, NC? What a small world that is where I am now.

Hmm that's strange that it did not take care of it.

On the different note.
Yep it is truly a small world. The big move is in a week and a 1/2

So how do you like it there. Are you a transplant or born there.
I took a small trip back there a few weeks ago and got a place.
It looks and seems nice.
Anything to get out of Califonia.

I will try and install the driver again.

I am a transplant from the mid-west. We love it down here. Great place if you have children. Lots of parks and activities to do and you are close to Raleigh and Chapel Hill. It gets a little hot in July and August, but the extended spring and fall are worth it. Hope your move goes well.

Check to see that the TPHOTKEY Utility (THHKMGR.exe) is in your startup sequence.

Please add Location and other relevant data to your Profile. Not required, but appreciated.

Install the latest version of Access Connections.

In the directory where the driver is, go to the apps/api directory, and run the batch file that's in there. Then reboot.

If you don't have that directory, then what model of R50p do you have?

All fixed?

I got around the issue by dragging the "Wireless Network Connection" icon from "Network Connections" to my desktop. Now I can right click and enable or disable. I actually placeed it in my tool bar and it does the same thing.

I really do not want to install IBM Connections software. I ran into problems with the software on my previous computer a t40. Also, a co-worker had problems with it on his r50p. Most likely isolated, but I did not want to test the waters again.

Thanks for all the help,
Eric
