Need help with x60 IPS screen upgrade.

#1 Post by Think-er » Mon Feb 20, 2012 7:13 pm

I want to upgrade my screen with IPS XGA screen not the SXGA+
I notice that the tablet screen has the screw stick out, but my question
It that the circuit board stick out too on the edge. Do I cut the small pieces of
The board too or will that damage the circuit. Please help. Thanks

Yes, you have to cut the circuit board pieces also off. I'd recommend using the dremel and covering the panel with cardboard or something for that time, secure with tape also in order to avoid the particles going inside the LCD panel.

Raceboy,

Thank you for you advice. So cutting the circuit board won't damage the screen right?
Do I also need a modify lcd cable to make this work? Thanks

Hi Think-er,

Yes, you need the modified LCD cable, since the pin-outs are different.

Here's a page with some instructions and the correct pin-out map:

Thanks and good health, Weogo
