WTB: 7200RPM harddrive
WTB: 7200RPM harddrive
I'm looking for a 7200RPM hardrrive for my T61p. I got an I/O error today and it failed a DST test.

Re: WTB: 7200RPM harddrive
In my opinion there are a lot more important things to look for when shopping for a replacement harddrive then the spindle speed. On a laptop sometimes the 5400 can be a better option, they often spin up faster and draw less power. the faster rotation speed can result in faster transfer speeds, but you might find an SATA2 5400 drive performs better then a SATA1 7200.
I'd also be more concerned with capacity, the spindle speed is an outdated concern, if you want speed, go with an SSD,
ps. I have a brand new Hitachi 750GB 7200rpm drive if your interested, I also have a Hitachi 500gb 5400rpm. I think I might have a few more 7200rpm drives, I'd have to look, send me a PM if you're interested.
