Hi,
While attempting a system restore on my T500, I encountered the following;
windows cannot repair this computer automatically
further;
Root cause found: No OS files found on disk.
Repair action:Partition table repair. result :failed. Error code=0x490
Can anyone help?

Is this a system restore from factory cd's? R&R backup? other? Have you installed a new hard drive?

Thank you for the response.
It was a r&r from usb hard disk. When that threw up the error, I attempted to restore to the factory restore point, which threw up the same problem.

Sorted problem by giving up on vista and installing xp.
