T520 (4240-3WG) display quality
I'm thinking about buying of T520 (4240-3WG) with 15.6" 1600x900 LED display. Can somebody share experience with this display (quality of colors, viewing angles etc...)? Thanks!
Current: T420
Previous: T400, T43p Flexview, T40, R52, T43p 14"
My first ThinkPad was 570

Re: T520 (4240-3WG) display quality
Sure I'll comment.
I had this screen for a month or so before I switched out the panel to the full HD one.
It's really actually quite decent. The brightness was good and the colors were very nice with a slight cool tone. Granted, I'm not a professional by any means - but I found it to be a very usable panel.
Viewing angles were better than average, definitely better than the 1366x768 panel. No comparison. THe colors do wash out at extreme angles, but the sweet spot is larger than most panels out there.
Overall, and other people have said the same thing - very high quality panel with good colors and viewing angle.
However, the FHD screen is another story - much better colors and viewing angles, at a higher resolution. I don't regret upgrading, and if you are comfortable with slightly smaller text - somthing you should strongly consider as well.

Go for the full HD+ screen ... it really is worth it.

I got the full HD, and just wow. I couldn't be more happier with it, I can never go back to a lesser display.
