Re: Where are people sourcing their SXGA+ panels?
I recently got one from an eBay seller called pcwith123, it was the cheapest I could find on eBay. No complaints: arrived quickly, very good condition, no protective glass or digitizer.
There was a horrible moment when I saw that it was a HV121P01-101, not a HV121P01-100 as expected, then I saw there was no bonded glass on the front, just protective plastic.
It cost $250. You can get an SXGA+ X60T for about the same price, if you're lucky.
regards,
Tom

Re: Where are people sourcing their SXGA+ panels?
Actually, I'm looking to upgrade my X60 Tablet from XGA to SXGA+, so I would need a panel with the protective glass (I assume I can reuse the digitizer on my XGA panel).
For this purpose, the cheapest listing for HV121P01 panels on ebay are from a seller named "browngranite". Does anyone have experience with this seller?

I checked this seller's listing, and he seems to offer both HV121P01-100 and -101. Did you specifically request a panel with the protective glass removed?trmsw wrote:I recently got one from an eBay seller called pcwith123, it was the cheapest I could find on eBay. Honestly, your best bet is to get rid of X60T and just buy a X61T with SXGA+. You might end up doing better from the financial standpoint in the end.

I got my replacement screen from this ebay seller: http://www.ebay.com/itm/IBM-LENOVO-X60- ... 20be53c5bd
Not cheap, but I really didn't care. No problems other than what's to be expected from putting an X60t screen into and X61t. (Digitizer cable not matching up.)

Unless your X61t turns out like mine and develops air bubbles. In which case you'll wish you just upgraded an XGA one.ajkula66 wrote:Honestly, your best bet is to get rid of X60T and just buy a X61T with SXGA+. You might end up doing better from the financial standpoint in the end.

Huh...but those *are* the "bubbly" screens...I've had several of them replaced under warranty over the past two months...so there's absolutely no guarantee that one is better off just buying an LCD and throwing it in...it's a gamble either way...Blzut3 wrote:I got my replacement screen from this ebay seller: http://www.ebay.com/itm/IBM-LENOVO-X60- ... 20be53c5bd

Re: Where are people sourcing their SXGA+ panels?
Are you sure? From what I've gathered the bubbles formed on the direct bonded panels (X61t) between the glass and the panel itself (at least the air introduced from trying to pry the glass of merged with the existing bubbles just fine). The ones with the plate attached with tape (X60t) should be more or less immune to the problem. All XGA screens are taped so they never show this problem. Or so I was told.ajkula66 wrote:Huh...but those *are* the "bubbly" screens...I've had several of them replaced under warranty over the past two months...so there's absolutely no guarantee that one is better off just buying an LCD and throwing it in...it's a gamble either way...

Yes. All of the machines that I was referring to had on-site warranties so I was able to watch what was pulled out and subsequently put in.Blzut3 wrote: Are you sure?
The second FRU from that listing belongs to X61T panel type...while the Hydis # is the same.

Um, no.ajkula66 wrote:Honestly, your best bet is to get rid of X60T and just buy a X61T with SXGA+. You might end up doing better from the financial standpoint in the end.
My tentative budget for this potential upgrade is $200. If the cost of getting an SXGA+ panel is much higher than that, I will simply not do it.
I do, however, wish to hear some suggestions about the "getting rid of" part. If I decide to sell either my X60T or X41T, where am I likely to get a fair price?
Indeed, the seller you listed has the exact part number and all, and it's the most straightforward swap possible. But as I said, I'm more looking at it as a hobby, and the $300 price tag is honestly not worth it for me.Blzut3 wrote:I got my replacement screen from this ebay seller: http://www.ebay.com/itm/IBM-LENOVO-X60- ... 20be53c5bd
