x61 troubles in tablet mode

#1 Post by agent1174 » Fri Mar 09, 2012 4:58 pm

Hey all,
I'm having a problem with a X61T I recently purchased. It appears that the stylus does not work when the screen is in tablet mode. In fact none of tablet buttons work either. The thing is when I convert back to "laptop" mode everything works fine. I have also noticed a few times when adjusting the screen the picture flickers. I know that the monitor cable is known to cause problems. It seemed like I'm having a problem with the wiring through the hinge but then I noticed more weird behavior that has got me second guessing myself. If I press the screen rotation button in tablet mode nothing happens...But then as soon as I convert back to laptop mode the screen rotates by itself! The same goes for the other buttons, the response is delayed until after I fold the screen back. Am I missing something here? Is this a hardware problem or a software problem? I have the latest drivers installed from lenovo.

Hmm. Just a thought, but check that there's no keyboard keys being held down by the screen when it's in tablet mode. Troubleshooting such weird problems is a pain.
