Use a dustless cloth and water + isopropyll alcohol. You can also buy computer cleaning spray from Staples or another office supply store. That should clean up smudges. If there's dust in the fan vents and under the keys, a can of compressed air can help dislodge it.
Homebuilt PC: AMD Athlon XP (Barton) @ 1.47 GHz; nForce2 Ultra; 1GB RAM; 80GB HDD @ 7200RPM; ATI Radeon 9600; Integrated everything else!

Shoulda seen my laptop after letting this one kid use it who picks his nose in public. I'm not joking at all, a few days ago, I let him use it and then I found two or three bugers on my keyboard. Before that, I made the mistake of eating wings and doritoes at my desk while the laptop was open.
I prefer compressed air to remove all the loose dust then use a dry raq to quickly go over the keyboard lightly and gently, then I use a rag damp with water followed immediatly by a dry cloth for cleaning my screen. Afterwards, I use compressed air again to get rid of any dust I knocked into the keyboard during the process.
For grease on the outside as well as inside, use those moist towellettes usually given out at gas stations and resturaunts. The more, the merrier. Those things work miracles.
