New Ultrabay Slim drive Optical drive needed

#1 Post by gcrames » Tue Mar 13, 2012 5:30 pm

I'm a bit lost in a blizzard of parts numbers, but I am a bit worried that I may have damaged my ultrabay slim drive and so am looking for a replacement for my T60

Current FRU is 39T2687 and I am happy with another CD-RW/DVD-ROM (as long as it is equivalent or better) but will can go multiburner, although budget is a consideration

I have found the 40Y8621 cheap, but is this a good replacement for the the 39T2687 or does it have less features/is an older model?

Any advice on current models/best place to get information on drives would be much appreciated.

The most available multiburner seems to be 43N3229 ThinkPad DVD Burner Ultrabay Slim 9.5mm Drive II - if anyone has any idea if that is T60 Compatble that would be really helpful

It isn't. It is a SATA optical drive compatible only with T400/500 and later models.

You need one of these:

Collectibles: T430s (IPS FHD + Classic Keyboard), X32 (IPS Screen)
Retired: X61 7673-V2V, A31p w/ Ultrabay Numpad
Past: Z61t 9440-A23, T60 2623-D3U, X32 2884-M5U
