white pixel?

#1 Post by combustion » Fri Apr 15, 2005 11:58 am

okay I purchased my t42 off ebay from one of those thinkpad powersellers, so since I saved about $500 I was expecting at least a dead pixel or two or three... but this pixel doesnt look "dead" its white.

its not that big a deal, everything else on this machine is perfect.. but is this a dead pixel or something else?

It's a hot pixel, a pixel that is always on. The exact opposite of a dead pixel ...

No, but if you saves $500, I would be happy! A lot of us paid full price, and have more than one! :-)

Since we are on this topic...

Is it true that IBM will not replace the System if it has less than 16 Pixels or whatever mentioned in the exchange policy page?

Iam getting a new one tomorrow and Iam curious whether I can send it back if I have a single dead / white pixel?

Or, more importantly, no reason at all!

Reminder to those who are thinking about buying a ThinkPad - Bill Morrow, the guy who runs this site, also sells ThinkPads and will guarantee you a pixel perfect one for nominal additional cost ($100, I think, but you'll have to talk to him!).
