LCD question

#1 Post by lukee » Tue Mar 20, 2012 8:35 am

I have Dell Latitude D520 with 15" SXGA+ LCD display for parts (mobo is bad). Is it possible to fit this LCD into 15" T43 lid and will it work? Reason for that: my current IPS display tends to yellowing when the Dell's LCD is almost brand new and the white color there is really white. My T43 currently has SXGA+ too. Thanks for answer.
Current: T420
Previous: T400, T43p Flexview, T40, R52, T43p 14"
My first ThinkPad was 570

Generally, without knowing the exact pinout of the Dell screen, I wouldn't attempt the swap. The chances of blowing a fuse or two are way too high for my liking.

Good luck.

I know for a fact that the 14.1" SXGA+ as used in Dell D500 and D600 Series does NOT work in a T4x.
The 14.1" and 15" LCD as used by IBM have the same pinout.
Therefore the 15" from such a Dell will also NOT work in a T4x.
