question about T41 2373JU9
T41 2373JU9
I'm told this computer has the following specs:
1.6GHz Centrino
Intel 802.11b wireless
60 Gig 7200 RPM drive
512 MB RAM
bluetooth
DVD/CD-RW
SXGA+ Radeon 9000
I can't find any official confirmation that the hard drive is really 7200 RPM, though, and I also can't officially confirm the video card. Can anyone here tell me with absolute certainty that these specs are correct? If they are, I think I am going to buy this computer.

As per IBM:
"Based on 2373-3HU: P M 1.6GHz, 512MB RAM, 60GB 7200rpm HDD, 14.1 SXGA+(1400X1050) TFT LCD, 32MB ATI Radeon 9000, 16x10x24x/8x CD-RW/DVD, Intel 802.11b wireless(MPCI), Bluetooth/Modem(CDC), 1GB Ethernet(LOM), UltraNav, Secure Chip, 6c battery, WinXP Pro"
I almost got a 2373-JU5, similar specs to the JU9, but that went awry and I am now upgrading my T23.
The 2373-3HU is...
"P M 1.6GHz, 512MB RAM, 40GB 5400rpm HDD, 14.1 SXGA+(1400X1050) TFT LCD, 32MB ATI Radeon 9000, 16x10x24x/8x CD-RW/DVD, Intel 802.11b wireless(MPCI), Modem(CDC), 1GB Ethernet(LOM), UltraNav, Secure Chip(TCPA), 6 cell Li-Ion battery, WinXP Pro"
So evidently the JU9's big change is that it has a 7200rpm 60gig disk opposed to 40gig 5400rpm, and Bluetooth.
How much btw?
Vicky
(Just bought an SXGA+ T22 to disect and boost my XGA T23, mwuahahahahahaha

Hiya,
Thats a good price that I would definitely go for, about what I did pay for the JU5 (grits teeth bitterly) until I found out it was sold before I got chance to pay..... Anyway...
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... country=uk
enter it on the right side where it says enter product # ie: 2373JU9 (do not include a dash between the model and type)
Or...
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... ingPage.vm
That also works
Then you can see the specs as per IBM.
Also there is the tabook but not all models are in there.

Thanks much. You really helped me out.
Now just trying to decide if the extra $200 is worth it. For $1,330 I can get a T41 (2373JU8) with:
1) only XGA instead of SXGA (but on a 14.1 screen is it nuts to run SXGA anyway?)
2) only 40 GB 5400 instead of 60 GB 7200 (don't need the extra 20 GB, but like the 7200)
3) only 1.4 GHz instead of 1.6 GHz
By the way, does anyone have that 7200 rpm drive and can you really notice a difference?
