T22 UltraBay driver

#1 Post by Rex » Sat Apr 16, 2005 7:01 am

Hi there,

I have a T22 dual booting (at the moment) W98SE and W2k. Under 98, I have the UltraBay 2000 utility that gives a message when I remove the UltraBay and install a new one (such as the floppy drive).

I cannot find this utility for W2k. Does it exist? If so, what is it called? May be W2k does not need it? I don't know.

Grateful for any advice and if it is not necessary, that is just hunky dory.

Rex

Are you talking about the "Easy Eject" software? If so, it should be on the IBM site where you find the drivers.

David,

I guess so, but [censored] if I can see it. I'll look again under Easy Eject.

Rex,
You have to do some snooping around...it's not easily visible and no real description....try this link and find the file you need from the list:
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... MIGR-41987
Seems they'v renamed it to Ultrabay Swap Utility.
Cheers,
Dave

David,

Followed your link (been there before I posted my question) and there appeared to be nothing for a T22 and W2k. On the other hand, if I look closely, the little arrows indicate that I should use the driver to the left of the arrow. Am I stupid (don't answer that) or is not not exactly clear?

And that is what I have done.

Many thanks,

Rex

Glad you figured out the little arrows...for someone who hasn't seen them before, there is no good explanation. Glad you finally got it...Did it work?

Seems to work but no the same way that I get the messages in W98SE. It seems to be a utility for all removable hardware, inc. whatever is in the PCMCIA slot.

But as long as I can switch UltraBay drives with no plrblem, I don't really need it (I think.)

The 98 version gives a message when the drive is not working and that is useful.
