T43p will not suspend to RAM when lid closed

#1 Post by lukee » Wed Mar 28, 2012 1:12 am

Hi, my T43p will not suspend to RAM when LCD lid is closed. I can remember that this worked recently without any problems. If I press the micro button near the Esc key, LCD will power off but the laptop remains on. Only way how can I force it to suspend to RAM is to press Fn + F4 or suspend it manually through the 'Suspend to RAM' in GNOME panel. Power settings in Ubuntu 11.10 doesn't offer me to select what to do when the lid is closed. Thanks for help.
Current: T420
Previous: T400, T43p Flexview, T40, R52, T43p 14"
My first ThinkPad was 570

Check your settings in BIOS, there should be an option there...
