Kingston SSD: SV200S37A/128G or SVP200S3/120G

#1 Post by masterus » Fri Mar 30, 2012 9:52 am

Hi guys,

I have Kingston SSD: SV200S37A/128G which is 7.5mm height.
Due to performance concern I have contacted Kingston Support re new firmware.
I've been offered a replacement with upgraded model: SVP200S3/120G which is 9.5mm height
Both ones are SATA III , but upgraded model is much faster: 535MB/480MB comparing to 300MB/190MB
Should I accept this offer :?:

Thanx & Rgds

The 7.5mm is for the newest machines.
9.5mm is for older ones.
SATA-III is only an illusion in T61 or older.
T61/R61/X61 can run at SATA II with Middleton BIOS.
Anything before/older runs at SATA I.

And the new 9.5mm one is also 8GB smaller (not such a big deal...).
Lovely day for a Guinness! (The Real Black Stuff)
