What a perfect day to announce the worlds first portable nuclear powered home reactor, exclusively at Tiger Direct

Now we can finally say goodbye to these overpriced li-ion batteries and be free of arab oil for good :)

ps. There is a very good reason why this was announced today, see how long it takes you to figure it out.

Be careful, my cat likes to sleep on my 170w adapter... had to take him to the vet because he started to glow, so no idea what they put in those things... :(

Maybe the w530 will ship with a portable nuke :)

Well, it is about time that this has finally made it to market. I have been following Toshiba's progress on this product since 2008.

Toshiba Builds 100x Smaller Micro Nuclear Reactor
http://www.nextenergynews.com/news1/nex ... 2.17b.html
Toshiba has developed a new class of micro size Nuclear Reactors that is designed to power individual apartment buildings or city blocks. The new reactor, which is only 20 feet by 6 feet, could change everything for small remote communities, small businesses or even a group of neighbors who are fed up with the power companies and want more control over their energy needs.
The 200 kilowatt Toshiba designed reactor is engineered to be fail-safe and totally automatic and will not overheat. Unlike traditional nuclear reactors the new micro reactor uses no control rods to initiate the reaction. The new revolutionary technology uses reservoirs of liquid lithium-6, an isotope that is effective at absorbing neutrons. The Lithium-6 reservoirs are connected to a vertical tube that fits into the reactor core. The whole whole process is self sustaining and can last for up to 40 years, producing electricity for only 5 cents per kilowatt hour, about half the cost of grid energy.
Of course, those idiots over at "Faux News" are very critical that it may get into the hands of terrorists...

I just compared prices over at Newegg. I can't believe that I am saying this, but TigerDirect definitely beats Newegg when it comes down to price.

One cattle farmer had been beta testing the product for years, he reports it provided all the power to run his home, business and farm, although several of his new calves were born with extra legs and other body parts, but he added that with the rising demand for beef, the extra limbs were a win/win situation, so he can't complain.

One home tester was quoted regarding that fact that his cat now glows in the dark as saying... "it's really cool, I like him better like this".

I can't wait to get mine :)
