Z61M 9452-9JG display issues

Hi. I can output to external monitor OK and can 'LogMeIn' so boooting OK. Must be a LCD panel problem or the inverter.

I noticed the screen had dimmed recently and has now gone black. I have removed the bezel and the inverter is cold to touch. Any suggestions please? How can I test?
