Windows 7 Pro SP1 Update Failure on X301

I haven't used my X301 much in over a year since converting to the Dark Side! (Macs) Long Story! Anyway the X301 is a great machine and I wanted to do all the updates before selling it. (54 days warranty left) All the Lenovo drivers/bios are up to date. I've also updated all the Microsift Windows updates but SP1. It keeps failing with 80004005 Error.
Windows is Activated w/Genuine Upgrade Disks. Wondering if anyone else has experienced similar problem w X301? TIA

I had the same problem. X301 don't like SP1.
Use the Windows fix, then do a system clean with CCleaner.
Clean all your registry, and all your system files.
Then reboot, and run the installer again.
It may take a long time but it should work.

At some point it will look like its stuck, just leave it be and it will eventually install fine.

I appreciate the help, but followed both paths and it still failed the upgrade. I did a complete re-install of Vista from the original recovery discs and then did the Windows 7 Pro Upgrade. Voila! After an endless period Windows Upgrades, etc. I activated Windows and ran the SP1 upgrade successfully! If any one wants a nice X301 with a little over a month and a half warranty it's now available!
