Color uniformity problem on 14" SXGA+ LCD

#1 Post by neolith » Sun Apr 17, 2005 10:42 am

Hello,

Recently I got this 2378FVU T42. I noticed that the color on the upper part of the screen is a noticeable darker than that of the lower part. It's like a gradient color change.

I wonder it's a common problem for all SXGA+ 14" screen, or just happen to mine. If it's the latter case, I might want it changed.

Your experience input is welcome

Color uniformity is generally a problem for all LCDs, regardless of manufacturer. My T40's XGA panel has a similar problem, with colors towards the bottom portion of the display being washed out. I wouldn't get the panel changed. Dead/stuck pixels are always a risk, and I don't think a new panel would be better.

More advanced specialty LCD panels do not seem to have these problems. The 15" FlexView displays I have seen have very good color uniforimty, as do XBrite displays and other multimedia oriented panels.
