weird backlight issue with a t40

Hello all,

backlight of my t40 stopped working. if i use a pocket light i can still see the thinkpad logo at boot etc.
however when i install the display on a t42 it works perfectly without the backlight issue. then i tried an r50 display and its the same story, working with the t42, backlight issue with the t40

could this be some kind of flexing on the t40 mobo ?

Sounds like a fuse on the motherboard has blown. Here's a thread that talks about the T4x fuses:
