T42p protection GPU

Hi,

soon wanna change my board , cause the other one is die (gpu troubles) and get like 3 reflows but now no more power on :(. Now for my new board, what can recommend for care about heat of gpu? some paste or something? i see in ebay some cupper stuff for gpu, dont know if this ones works or change fan stuff? thx for your time!

The best thing to do is to keep the machine on 24/7/365 and just shut the LCD off when not in use. This approach will minimize the number of heating/cooling cycles that adversely affect the GPU and SouthBridge.

Sorry i didnt undrstand , but you mean power off lcd when i not use, and how i make it? like hibernate?

No sleep/hibernation/standby.

Press Fn+F3 to shut the screen off and that's it.

I see..thx for the tip, in other way suspend , hibernate, affect gpu?
