upgrade video card on thinkpad t30

#1 Post by userme » Mon Apr 18, 2005 8:22 am

I have a dell inspirion 600m with ati 9000. I also have an IBM thinkpad t30 with video card ATI 7500. Is it possible to switch these two graphic card? Plus I'm trying to flash my bios, how do you flash your bios without the diskett drive? I need to upgrade my bios to 2.08. I currently have 2.06.

The graphics chips in both the T30 and the 600m are directly mounted onto the system board and cannot be removed.

I don't know about the T30, but with the T40 you can download a self extracting .exe file that you can run from Windows that will reset the ThinkPad and run the flash program.

Go to the T30 section and you should be able to find an update utility for the BIOS there.
