Sorry for beating a dead horse, but this one appears to be very thin. Would it be possible?

Re: IDE to SATA Adapter for T42
I doubt that you'd get a T42 to read the SATA drive, since it's missing the chip that is present on T43/p, R52 and X41/T.

Re: IDE to SATA Adapter for T42
Apart from that, it would never fit inside the drive bay, it's way too thick/high.

Re: IDE to SATA Adapter for T42
Well, the main drive bays are designed to exactly fit an 2.5 inch IDE hard drive. Add any adapter in there, and there will not be enough space for an 2.5 inch hard drive anymore.
I'm sure there is a way to cram everything in there if you're willing to remove all connectors and solder directly from pin to pin, but that's major surgery.
You can always use an SATA hard drive in an UltraBay adapter, though.

The adapter in the OP is an active converter and has an IDE-SATA bridge chip on it, so theoretically it should work in connecting a SATA drive to an IDE socket.ajkula66 wrote:I doubt that you'd get a T42 to read the SATA drive, since it's missing the chip that is present on T43/p, R52 and X41/T.
