T60p 10.6.8 ATI v5250 on battery: screen turns blue
T60p 10.6.8 ATI v5250 on battery: screen turns blue
I am currently really happy with my T60p running 10.6.8. Everything works including sleep thanks to this forum. There is one issue I cannot seem to fix though: Sometimes when I do things that demand a lot of what CPU and GPU have to offer and the laptop is on battery power, the screen turns blue for a few seconds. It doesn't switch instantly, instead the screen fades to blue (it is the same effect that you get if you change the screen resolution). In IORegistryExplorer, I noticed that this happens: https://skitch.com/unbehagen/8288q/appl ... ghtdisplay - OS X seems to remove and re-add the display device for Wormy. This only happens when it is on battery. Does anyone else have this issue with the ATI v5250 or an idea what might be causing this?

A few more details: I use silencer's DSDT, patched the ATI driver (Info.plist and binary patch) to include dev ID's together with ATIinject (added backlight-PWM-freq). I have full acceleration and all resolutions, as well as working screen brightness control. If there is anything I forgot to mention, please let me know - thanks in advance for your help!

Would you mind helping me out with how you got this working? I've got this http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=104666 going but nobody is responding.

Yes, noticed the same behaviour.
What are you using: stock 10.6.8 ati drivers with atinject (with EDID or without?) or patched 10.5 atindrv?
Are you using a external monitor on VGA?
I noticed that just the internal LVDS turns blue not the external. It can come from an incorrect setting in the framebuffer, but I'm still investigating it.

Finally found out what causes it. Change the BIOS power management/thermal control settings to max for battery and AC. That completely fixes this problem.
