Battery problem

I just acquired a thinkpad battery that does not charge. When looking at the battery in "power manager" it shows that it is in good condition but yet there is "no activity" in the status line. Is there any hope for this one, should I leave it on charge and see what happens?

Recycle bin, and not the one on your desktop.

Keep it in the machine for too long and you'll end up blowing a fuse on the board.
