T42 14.1'' XGA to SXGA+ panel

Hello,

I have read much about swapping a 14.1'' XGA with an SXGA+ screen but I am confused is to what needs to be replaced. I gathered that I need to replace the panel and the ribbon cable but I am not certain if I need to replace the inverter. Can someone confirm this for me?

Yes, you should replace the inverter as well.

Yes, but is there number of them to accommodate the different types of screens or is there just one for the 14'' models?

Any inverter from 14" SXGA+ section will work just fine...

I stand corrected.

It appears that there's only one inverter across the 14" T42 range so there's no need to swap it...

Simplest thing I would say to do would be to replace the whole lid.
