FS: 64GB Lenovo SSD FRU45N7951 $89 or B.O.

For sale, 64G Lenovo MLC SSD FRU45N7951 (almost new, replaced under warranty about a month ago). This is a 1.8" SSD drive, SATA 3.0Gbps. This was OEM in my T500 and was moved into my late T400. This is Lenovo branded manufactured by Samsung MMCRE64G8MXP.

It will only support TRIM when it is flashed with Samsung firmware (not Lenovo). It is not a trivial task but I have the firmware and instructions how to do it if someones interested in this drive.

I do not know the firmware version but it it only a couple months old. I cannot confirm TRIM support or not but I know my Lenovo 128GB SSD for my T400s does not, I think that may be common across Lenovo FRU SSD drives. Someone else may know better details on this drive.

I was able to flash the Samsung FW in an x301 on a 128gb drive but was never able to get it to work on the 64gb. Were you ever sucessful?

Was using the instructions from the NBR forum.

I have had 3 or 4 Lenovo SSD drives, they all performed flawlessly without updating the firmware; I have never tried to do an update on the firmware. I think someone could buy this drive as is and be very happy.
