Best dock for t40p ? Cooling? reducing work on computer?

Hello,

I have started to think about dock for my t40p - I have seen docks intergrated iwth power adapter and agp slot - is it good solution to reduce heat in computer body ? Is this addon card disables normal Ati card?

You must be thinking of the Advanced Dock with built in PCI slot (no AGP unfortunately)
As for temps, I used such a dock with an R50p, temps rose slightly when using it, just a few degrees, nothing to worry about if your ThinkPad is running cool already.
The advanced dock had a fan built in to it's power supply, it is very noisy, but if you don't use a video card (or some other power hungry card) in the dock, you can open to dock up and unplug the fan.

What makes me nervous about docks though, is that when docking and undocking the laptop, the chassis will flex somewhat, and may shorten the life of the video card.
