Thinkpads & The Space Station

#1 Post by JohnD. » Fri May 25, 2012 9:06 am

Hi Guys/Girls,

I just finished watching the Dragon spacecraft connect with the Space Station robotic arm. Which reminded me, I believe that the Space Station uses Thinkpads on board. Does anyone know which ones are on the station?

When I was watching Nasa TV, in the mission control room, I saw a logo that was at the bottom right corner, at a diagonal of a laptop. I am guessing that was a ThinkPad. I also saw a silver circle on the back of a screen of a laptop, maybe a Dell.

I bought this A31p off of eBay a couple of months ago and have been using it at work for over a month. It may or may not have flown in space. My understanding is that the "CLASS III NOT FOR FLIGHT" stickers are put on equipment that's been decommissioned.

There were some 760's that made it up there on shuttles too. I'm not which versions, though.

From the previous videos it looks like it is a T61p that Chris Hadfield works with.

Here the T61p and Chris are getting serious work done
