Thinkpad T23 built-in speaker questions

I've compared the T23 and the T22 built-in speaker. I found out that the T23 speaker is very soft and not as loud as T22. Is there a fault in T23 speaker because both architectural is almost the same.

They should be almost the same... Are they both running the same OS, etc? Maybe it is a driver? How quiet are we talking?

Both are running win xp professional. It seems that both of this system have different audio hardware.
