SSD Samsung SLC 64GB Micro-SATA in 2.5" carrier - SOLD

#1 Post by JBuzzard » Sat Jun 09, 2012 4:17 am

SOLD: Have a Samsung SLC SSD 64GB that includes a 2.5" carrier I bought from Lenovo (FRU 42W7888). Was using in a X60 tablet for about two years that I'd take to mtgs at work - not my main system so not sure it was used much during that period. Model number is MCCOE64G8MPP-0VA - it is the micro-SATA 1.8" size. Has been sitting idle for the last 6 months due to upgrading to a larger drive in a W520. It is running great, never had an trouble with it - it was much faster than the 5400 rpm drive it replace but not especially fast in the X60 but they are limited to SATA I (1.5 Gbps).

I had thought this came out of a X300 ThinkPad but looking I don't see a Lenovo FRU label on it. It is supported by the Lenovo firmware update utility (although I've never needed to update the firmware): http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/detail. ... MIGR-69806 so it seems to be compatible.

There is a review of it posted here: http://forum.notebookreview.com/lenovo- ... harts.html and you can see a photo of the drive there although the lenovo carrier I have doesn't have any exposed circuit board like the one in the review. The Lenovo carrier has the rubber bumpers built into it (why you need bumpers for a SSD is beyond me) so it slides right into a drive bay.

One person below asked for a detailed datasheet - here's the most detailed one I could find in English: http://www.icebergtechnology.com/ddd/NS ... _1%202.pdf

Looking to get $45 plus actual shipping but will to entertain offers. Shipping US/Canada only, pay via Paypal ok.

UPDATE: my apologies for the lack of info - will update the ad with the requested info shortly.
UPDATE 2: have fixed the URL to the datasheet. Not sure on the TRIM support under Windows 7 (which is what I ran on it).

Would you be kind to:

1) Provide us with the full manufacturers model-number for this drive?
2) Let us know its Lenovo Part Number and/or FRU?
3) Point us to a specific, detailled datasheet for this SSD?
4) Let us know a bit about its working condition... is it running perfectly in each and every sense?
5) Inform if is support TRIM (under Windows 7)?

Thanks in advance! :thumbs-UP:

Johan

Have added links to datasheet and review with more info on part numbers, etc.

Thanks - much appreciated!

If this SSD isn't already sold, I'd be very interested in buying it. And, yes, I know that I'm most regrettably neither living in the USA nor in Canada (truly sorry, but that's how it has turned out for me!), but if you are nevertheless willing to make one single exception in your entire life  and consider shipping to Copenhagen, Denmark (easy thing: Just drop the SSD in a bubble-wrapped envelope, and then pass by your USPS some day when you have time - and that's it! - then we have a deal!

Always remember: Where there's a will, there's a way! :D

Thanks!
