Why would I build a FlexView-equipped FrankenPad based on R60e?

Because I don't like touchpads on ThinkPads.

Because I had all the parts required and nothing better to do with them...

Anyway...it's one very clean machine with minor wear on the lid, and average shine on keyboard/palmrest area. Runs pretty fast given the age of the platform involved, very quiet, all-in-all a success in my book. Might just be an ultimate Linux box of this era.

As usual...if you require a bigger hard drive/SSD...

That's exactly the reason I built mine. The aesthetics of the touch padless palm rest are the way to go. I wish they'd offer it on other ThinkPads. If I didn't already have one....

Two upgrades as of 07/01/2012:

a) CPU from T2300 to T2600.

b) Wireless card from Intel 3945ABG to Lenovo ABGN.

The same low price. As good as it gets for this one.
