Advice for changing a broken screen on my T420

Hello all,

It's my first post here and I come with a problem. I managed to break my Thinkpad T420 screen by carelessly hitting it by a cabinet metal door. Now the screen is cracked on the middle...
To cut the long story short I wonder if I can change my screen with a higher resolution one (my Thinkpad model is 4236-y1w with HD resolution, and I would like a HD+ resolution screen). Did any of you tried successfully such an upgrade?

I'm sure it's doable, though I have not done it myself on the T420. Consult the HMM for the part numbers.
