PMH-7 / Rinkan documentation available?

#1 Post by jal2 » Thu Jun 21, 2012 5:11 am

Hi,

I try to repair a dead T500. I've got the schematics, but there are two chips called PMH-7 and Rinkan (DC/DC) where I cannot find any documentation in the web. Any hints on where to get them? AFAIK they are used in the T61 and T400, too.
If someone has them but is under NDA: I wonder if the Rinkan generates VCC3SW (pin 61) and under which conditions the PMH-7 asserts -LEDPWR (pin 84).

Thanks,
jal2

On the T61 schematics, it looks like the T61 previously used the PMH-6 which is also known as 77P1865.
PMH-6 is crossed-out there and replaced with PMH-7.
I have no further info.

After more than a year and some defective Thinkpads later:

Yes, the Rinkan-1 generates VCC3SW from VREGIN20. VCC3SW is needed to open the first MOSFET in the DC-In path.

But I'm still looking for more information about the Rinkan-1, aka Toshiba TB62513FG. I'm currently looking at one in a X301, where it permanently asserts -PWRSHUTDOWN, while it's shutdown input (-SHDN_IN) and TH_DET are deasserted. The pullup resistors are in place, VCC3SW is available.
