60 GB shows up at 44GB after fresh install of XP Pro
60 GB shows up at 44GB after fresh install of XP Pro
Hi All,
I installed Fedora using the steps.
1) defrag the drive using PM8.0
2)Create a partition for Fedora.
3) Install fedora.
Finally, I didnt like fedora and I tried to go back to PM 8.0 to see the partitions. The C drive reads in YELLOW, the word "BAD".
Now, I used the steps for fresh install of XP without a recovery CD. I installed XP on the main 44MB partion(format option in setup-NTFS) and my laptop works fine. I reinstalled PM8.0 on the fresh Install of XP and PM8.0 still shows that C drive as BAD and show no partitions.
The reason(I think) I see the size as 44GB as opposed to 60GB is the partitions still existing.
Please help me how I can fix this.
Thanks

It seems like you did not remove all partitions created by fedora and installed XP on rest of the partition.
If you boot from XP CD can't you see all the partition available? You should be able to see the fedora partition and delete it and recreate the partition in NTFS format.
Then PM8 should be able to see it and merge it to the 44GB to make total of 60GB (or slightly less)

I tried deleting the partition but even after 1 hour, It was at the same screen. I rebooted my laptop.
Can I use my boot CD to go back and delete the partitions or is there any easy way without having to do a delete and fresh install of XP again
