Switchable graphics- how to startup with integrated?

#1 Post by boomshakalaka » Mon Jun 25, 2012 6:07 pm

Hi, I've just upgraded my T500 with an ssd, and am trying to replicate my settings from my old hard drive from scratch with a clean install of W7

I'm almost sure I was able to start in integrated graphics while being able to switch over to discrete through power manager. I can switch to integrated from discrete but I rarely need to be running in that mode.

Also, the Intel ME software downloaded from lenovo drivers page won't install (your computer doe not meet the minimum requirements), though the integrated graphics work fine.

Hopefully I can shed a little bit of light on this. The switchable graphics driver for the T500 includes both the ATI and Intel drivers; you don't need to install the Intel GPU over it.

Is the switchable function working correctly? On my T500 I can leave it in integrated, shut it down, and and it'll stay on integrated when I switch it back on.
