White Screen on T20 LCD

#1 Post by shawry » Thu Apr 21, 2005 5:33 pm

Hi, wonder if you can help. I have a T20 that has recently started having a bright white lcd screen, the VGA output is OK when hooked up to a monitor and the lcd works ok when I hook it up to another T series (with the same inverter and lcd cable) therefore I can only think that it is the system board but hopefully there is another solution than replacing it. Is there anyway to clear the bios as well as removing the cmos battery? Thanks, Chris

Could be a bad inverter card. If your VGA output is ok, I think that your video chip is probably still working fine.
Homebuilt PC: AMD Athlon XP (Barton) @ 1.47 GHz; nForce2 Ultra; 1GB RAM; 80GB HDD @ 7200RPM; ATI Radeon 9600; Integrated everything else!

The inverter is fine as it works OK on another Thinkpad
