T410s won't go to sleep.

#1 Post by pwils1991 » Sun Jul 22, 2012 3:51 pm

After reinstalling Windows 7 64-bit, my computer will not sleep. There is no option to sleep, even in the start menu. I have tried all of the Lenovo power manager drivers and whatnot and it still will not sleep. Lenovo tech support won't help me because i did not install a copy of windows distributed by lenovo. Has anybody else had this problem? Or does anybody know how to fix this problem.

I use a command prompt to disable hibernation on my machines -- so when I choose the start menu, "hibernate" does not appear -- only restart and sleep appear.

Check out this Microsoft page -- it shows a command prompt which checks your sleep status and why it may or may not be available. I think it also has a command prompt to disable or enable sleep.

EDIT: I can't get the link to copy -- :?
Basically it says to use a command prompt powercfg -a which will report the sleep states available on the computer and attempt to report reasons why sleep states are unavailable.
