ThinkVantage System Update hack to get it working?

The install on my x61 tablet is working perfectly but it was a pain in the butt downloading all of the updates, and I'm wondering if Lenovo will even update them to Win8.

Is there any known hack for getting system update to think you're running Windows 7? I've searched but haven't found anything. I'm betting it simply reads the registry for "Windows 7 (x64) sp1" ...

eta... ooops. i see what you're trying to do now. i wouldn't count on any win8 system update support until win8 is released. i'm pretty sure that's how they handled it with win7.
