Hello, I have a T500 2242-CTO with integrated camera. I bought it used with a bad ccfl screen and replaced the whole screen assembly with an LED screen, bluetooth and the integrated camera. At first, both the bluetooth and webcam were not working. I removed the bezel and played with the connectors to both and then the bluetooth started working but still not cam. I even tried connecting the cam module from the old screen assembly but still nothing.
In the bios, there is no integrated camera option under Security->I/O ports. Is there something I'm missing? I have checked and re-checked the connections at both ends of the LCD cable and still no-go. Could it be a bad cable?
I'm running the latest BIOS 6FET92WW.
Thanks

Oh, I was just to order parts to upgrade my T500... hope you will resolve this soon so I can continue with the upgrade
Re: T500 Integ Camera option missing from Bios, cam not working
I would hope this is an isolated issue but I have seen lots of posts on other forums (with no resolution). This laptop originally did have the camera but the screen was broken where the hinge meets the metal part of the screen assembly. It ended up being cheaper to buy a used screen assembly and the only difference is the new one was LED backlit. I'm not sure if that is the issue or not. Possibly the LCD cable is bad or the contacts are gunked up. I will keep trying to figure this out. I might try the old cable connected to the old camera module and plug in to an external monitor and see if the bios option appears. It seems that is the key to whether or not the camera will show up in Windows.
