4GB RAM stick in an R52?

#1 Post by DanielJamesDavis » Fri Aug 10, 2012 8:27 am

Good morning all.

I had some extra cash on hand after deciding not to get a bluray drive for my R52 and I happened upon a curious site that is advertising, specifically for the R52, a 4GB RAM chip.

Can the R52 even handle more than 2GB?

Here is the site I found it at-
http://www.universalmemory.com/3352U18330.htm

Are they trustworthy?

I might buy two sticks if they're legit. :)

Your R52 won't even boot with a 4GB stick installed let alone anything else.

The chipset limitation is 2GB for the platform in question.

You are awesome!

Thanks for the tip. I'll stay away from these guys then.
