x230 mini displayport supports 2560x1440 monitor?

Hi. does the mini displayport on the new series x230 / t430 etc... support a monitor 2560x1440? I think it would necessitate a dual link DVI adapter, but it seems a lot of laptops limit their external resolution to 1920x1080

The maximum resolution via the displayport is 2560x1600. I don't see a reason it would fail, but I don't have a 2560x1440 to test my theory.
