What's the HDD status out there? What are you using? (All driveoptions are not listed, but I choosed the most common ones I think)

Hitachi 7K60, now up to 16 of them in personal and family machines.

They're all basically silent and none of them get more than slightly warm, even in heavy (AutoCAD, Photoshop, etc.) use.

Anxiously awaiting the release of the 7K family of 100GB and 120GB HDs.

Regards,

James

Wow, speed is crucial it seems. Well I agree with you James, the 120GB/7200 will be a huge hit! Or maybe we'll get a 2,5" 400GB@10000rpm ;)

Can't vote! The drive in my ThinkPad is a Fujitsu 4200 RPM drive (30GB capacity).
Homebuilt PC: AMD Athlon XP (Barton) @ 1.47 GHz; nForce2 Ultra; 1GB RAM; 80GB HDD @ 7200RPM; ATI Radeon 9600; Integrated everything else!

Just bought my 7K60 a couple of days ago.
A very noticable difference from the original 14.1 GB HD.

Now I'm waiting for my P-III 850 MHz MMC-2 module to arrive.
Couldn't wait though.....it's already in my signature.
Yes yes.....premature....but I'm estatic

Nice being back. 8)

Kindest regards
Brian
